Three jewels of Donegal’s heritage are located in easy travelling distance of Bunbeg House.
Dunlewey Lakeside Centre
Nestled in the Poison Glen at the foot of Errigal Mountain lies a showpiece of the material Cultural heritage of the area, with a hand loom weaver still at work.
It has an excellent childrens play area with an animal farmyard, restaurant and craft centre. There is something for everyone.
Nearby is old Dunlewey Church, which lies roofless and forlorn beside the wind-ruffled lake but still has a compelling beauty of its own.

Glenveagh National Park
Situated to the east of Sli Ulaidh, the park attracts visitors for its romantic castle, built by George Adair in 1857. It has beautiful gardens and a gloriously natural wild setting around Lough Veagh – where the largest red deer population in Europe is contained. The park has well signposted nature trails, as well as longer treks. It is only 30 minutes drive away from Bunbeg House.

Glebe House and Gallery
A short drive from Glenveagh on the Mountain Road with beautiful views you will find a Regency house in Lakeside Gardens which contains the Derek Hill Collection. This has works by Picasso, and a wide range of Japanese, Islamic, Irish and Italian Art.
Located near Glebe House is the Colmcille Heritage Centre, in Churchill/Garton – the birthplace of Saint Colmcille, Donegal’s Patron Saint.
